  • Over the course of the past 14 years, I have meticulously constructed a photography career by specializing in a specific niche within the field. This wasn't a happenstance occurrence; rather, it was a purposeful and strategic business choice on my part. I opted to establish a reputation for my adeptness in capturing deeply evocative and genuine imagery of children, primarily catering to the advertising sector.

Early on in my career, I managed to attract the attention of my first agent, a feat that was not coincidental but rather the result of my deliberate efforts. I went on to maintain a partnership with The Kitchen Creative Management for over a decade and have recently have joined PhotoPlay Photo/Films.

My career has taken me to various corners of the globe, where I've undertaken assignments for both national and global campaigns. Some of my notable clients have included Woolworths, A2 Milk, Seed, Country Road, Bonds, Westpac Bank, Microsoft, Myer, and David Jones, among others.

I also have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in commercial photography (RMIT) and a Diploma of Education (La Trobe University). I have lectured and tutored at Universities and have been mentoring online since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

I often receive emails from people looking for advice about the industry or photography in general but I always find a chain of emails never really harnesses my enthusiasm and passion for sharing my experience and knowledge.

  • The sessions are completely tailored to what you want to learn and the areas you want to focus on.

  • Online- Google Meet / Zoom:

Anyone who knows me knows I love to TALK so grab a cozy spot, your laptop/tablet, a note pad and a cuppa tea. Sessions are completed via Zoom or Google Meet video link. The session will go for 1.5 hours each.

Before our session I’ll e-mail you a questionnaire to help tailor the content specifically to you. Answering these questions will identify key areas you’d like to focus on and will ensure you get the most out of our discussion. It will also help me prepare some take home materials (PDF format) with practical tips/exercises as well as overview of the session.

    In Person:

If you opt for an in person session I will be in contact to arrange a meeting time and place. In person sessions can be in Melbourne or Sydney. I am based in Melbourne but travel to Sydney frequently for shoots. In person sessions are perfect for people wanting hands on lighting demonstrations and in depth portfolio development and discussion. The in person session is 7 hours in total including a 1 hour catered lunch.

  • “These days everyone is a photographer!” I hear this expression so often and while yes it is true (anyone can pick up a camera and begin charging for their service), but what makes someone stand out from another? What makes someone successful in a saturated market?

Sessions are available to people of all ages -

    -Professional photographers seeking career development

-Photographers already working but want to focus on attracting commercial clients

-Photography enthusiasts wanting to turn a hobby into career

-Students (High School or University) seeking advice about the industry

I have extensive experience teaching and working with children right through to helping my photography assistants and colleagues take the next step in their photography careers.

I will tailor the information and material to suit each individual’s needs.

  • Due to the demand of my mentor sessions I am only able to take on a certain amount of people at one time. If the sessions are ‘sold out’ please join my wait list to be notified when there are new allocated spots available.

Sydney in person sessions are schedule to coincide with my commercial shoot travel dates (usually 1-2 per month)

I also continue to work as a commercial photographer alongside my mentoring so it is a delicate dance to balance the two.
